The market has expanded, not only is it seen with the largest number of companies entering the world of electronics, but also in how progressive technologies that were exclusive to an elite niche are being incorporated into smartphones. It is natural, it is the evolution of things, and what at first seemed too expensive or a mere whim of the manufacturer is transformed into the everyday.
In recent years we can see how the fingerprint scanner or dual cameras have become popular to the point that it is strange to see a Smartphone without these. Just have to see the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 which implements all this and does so in an accessible manner. But it is not the only one with this privilege and is that the Meizu M6 Note is another Phablet that seeks to fall in love with all these characteristics and more.
Selfie-focused smartphones seem to be in vogue now as not less than four of the recently-launched smartphones pack 16MP front cameras, and the Meizu M6 Note which was launched in China today has joined their ranks.
The Meizu M6 Note succeeds the M5 Note in the Meizu M series and comes with some of the specs that were present in its predecessor.
Meizu M6 Note Specifications, Review and Highlights
Design & Display
The Meizu M6 Note has a 5.5-inch display with 2.5D curved glass protection, a Full HD (1920 * 1080) pixel resolution and 1000:1 contrast ratio.
The smartphone is designed similarly to other smartphones in its series, featuring a physical home button below the display up front, curved edges and antenna lines running through the back on the top and bottom. It has a metal unibody design.
Storage & Processor
The M6 Note comes in three different memory variants; one with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, another with the same amount of processor memory and double the internal storage, and an high-end variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
All these are powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 Mobile Platform processor with an Adreno 506 GPU, and their internal storage capacities can be expanded with an external microSD card.
Camera
This year’s iteration of the Meizu M Note series comes more sophisticated in the camera department than its predecessor. It comes with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP primary camera which uses a Sony IMX362 or Samsung 2L7 sensor and 6P lens, has a f/1.9 aperture and 1.4µm pixel size, and a 5MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The phone’s rear is also adorned with a dual-tone quad-LED flash which is arranged within the top antenna line.
The smartphone’s front top bezel is occupied by a superb 16MP camera which uses the 5P lens and has a f/2.0 aperture. It’s a pity any LED Flash doesn’t accompany this one, but the aperture size should suffice to allow enough light brighten up your selfies.
Battery & Connectivity
The Meizu M6 Note packs a 4000mAh battery which can last for well more than 24 hours and supports 18W fast charging. As expected, this is a 4G phone so that we can enjoy the fastest browsing speeds to date. To be more precise, it is capable of working with 2G, 3G and 4G bands. This can also work with 2 Nano SIM cards at the same time. Apart from the aforementioned, it has nothing else to make it stand out from the rest of the devices – it has Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and A-GPS.
Software & Hardware
As is the case with most smartphones that have physical home buttons, the Meizu M6 Note features a fingerprint sensor which is embedded into its physical home button at the front. It runs on version 6 of Meizu’s Flyme OS which is built upon version 7.1.2 (Nougat) of the Android OS.
