New budget Nokia phone set to launch in China on August 4

HMD Global has scheduled an event to take place on August 4 in which the company plans to launch a new phone in China. From the teaser shared by the company, we get to see a glimpse of the upcoming phone in blue color featuring an accented customizable key.

If Nokia launches the phone it will become the first smartphone launched by HMD Global in China in over a year. The last smartphone from Nokia to be launched in China was the Nokia X71 which was launched back in April, last year.

There isn’t much information displayed on the poster about the upcoming device. All we can see are the color of the phone and the customizable key, which the company uses for Google Assistant when launched in other countries. There have been suggestions, however, that the phone is the Nokia TA-1258 which was recently spotted on TENAA.

If this happens to be true, it means the phone is a budget smartphone that runs on a 1.6 GHz octa-core chipset we do not know yet. It will also pack 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The display will be a 6.99-inch HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) LCD screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It doesn’t feature a notch or punch-hole design, however.

The phone will also feature an 8 MP camera on its rear and a 5 MP selfie shooter on the front. A fingerprint sensor is also mounted on the rear. Other features will include Android 10, and a 040mAh battery with no support for fast charging.
