Nokia 2.1 has been launched by HMD Global, the device is an entry-level smartphone with Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition and a massive battery capacity. This might be a code name for a Nokia 2 (2018), however, this 2.1 seems unique.
Every other things are kept on a low including the specs, the Snapdragon 425 chip is on-board with Quad-Core processor. There’s an 8MP rear camera, 8GB of Storage and 1GB of RAM. Lets find out more.
Design
The 2.1 comes with a Plastic back we typically see on the Nokia’s budget smartphones. Although there’s an aluminium frame, which brings out the beauty pretty nicely. It’s disappointing the device doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner, as there’s nothing of such at the back.
At the top middle, we can see the rear camera and LED flash on a vertically positioned foundation. It measures 9.7 mm in thickness due to its massive battery capacity, and weighs 174g overall. You can bet a color combination of either Blue/Copper, Blue/Silver and Grey/Silver.
Display
The full view display won’t be coming to Nokia’s budget smartphones soon. The Nokia 2.1 brings its 16:9 aspect ratio screen just like its predecessor, which is totally disappointing. However, the top and bottom bezel houses two front-facing stereo speakers.
The 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is a big leap from its predecessor, the screen is now bigger for big screen lovers. It has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and 267 pixel per inch density for stunning visuals. Even with lots of bezels, the screen manages to stretch up to 70% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Running the race here is the Snapdragon 425 with Quad-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-Cores of processor here runs at a smooth pace of 1.4GHz with 28nm process technology. The Adreno 308 graphics processor takes care of graphics.
There’s just 1GB of RAM space available with a maximum memory speed of 667MHz. While for storage, 8GB storage space is available and you can upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. The Nokia 2.1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition (Android One). It will also receive Android P Go Edition update.
Camera
As expected, an 8MP shooter stays at the back with a LED flash, for all your photography needs. There’s Autofocus, touch focus and other features available as well. While for selfies, the 5MP shooter at the top bezel will do its job.
Battery
Powering the Nokia 2.1 is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 3 hours.
