According to their CEO Lete Pau; “The company main goal is to design smartphones which features high-end quality for a lower price compared to other phones in its category”. And we can all agree they are doing just that. The One Plus 5T which was released in November 2017, is one of the best mid-range smartphones out there. And fans are already anticipating the release of “One Plus 6”. The One Plus 5T is already sold out in One Plus official store.

Finnish manufacturing company Nokia is back with the Nokia 7 Plus which is also a mid-range smartphone with high-end quality features. Can the new Nokia 7 Plus match up well against the outgoing One Plus 5T?

Nokia 7 Plus VS One Plus 5T – The Design

The One Plus 5T isn’t all that fascinating in design with just a front glass and aluminum body and frame. While the Nokia 7 Plus features a front glass with an aluminum body. And copper around its edges of the phone plus rear camera. The One Plus 5T is slimmer measuring 7.3mm in thickness and weighs 162 grams. While the Nokia 7 Plus measures 8mm thick and weigh 183 grams.

The fingerprint sensor is rear-mounted on both the Nokia 7 Plus and One Plus 5T. While the Nokia 7 Plus dual rear camera is above the fingerprint sensor. The dual rear camera of One Plus 5T is at the top left of the device aligned in a horizontal position. Black and White body colors are available for Nokia 7 Plus. While the One Plus 5T is available in Midnight Black, Lava Red, and Sandstone White body colors.

Nokia 7 Plus VS One Plus 5T – The Display

The Nokia 7 Plus is Nokia only smartphone with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Which sees the phone feature a 6.0 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. And also a display resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels with 403 PPI density. The One Plus 5T comes with a 6.01-inch Optic AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. It features the same display resolution of the Nokia 7 Plus which is 1080 x 2160 pixels and then a slightly lower 401 PPI density.

The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the screen of the Nokia 7 Plus. While the Corning gorilla glass 5 protects the screen of the One Plus 5T.

The Nokia 7 Plus features a high-end camera quality for its price. But the One Plus 5T triumph here. The Nokia 7 Plus sports a dual rear camera, with a resolution of 12MP f/1.8 aperture and 12MP f/2.6 aperture. While the One Plus 5T features a dual rear camera with a resolution of 16MP f/1.7 aperture and 20MP f/1.7 aperture. At the front camera, they both houses the same resolution of 16MP with f/2.0 aperture.

Nokia 7 Plus VS One Plus 5T – Hardware and Software

One Plus 5T with a better hardware and will equally have better performance to the Nokia 7 Plus. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with Octa-core processor reaching a speed of 2.45GHz powers the One Plus 5T. While for the Nokia 7 Plus is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with Octa-core processor which reaches a speed of 2.2GHz.

The Nokia 7 Plus comes with a stock Android of Android 8.1 Oreo. Which means there will be no messy customized User Interface. And the phone will get the next two major operating system update from Google. The One Plus runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat (upgradable to Android 8.1 Oreo) with Oxygen OS 5.1 skin.

The One Plus 5T comes in two variants of storage; the 6GB RAM with 64GB ROM and the 8GB RAM with 128GB ROM. While the Nokia 7 Plus is available in only a 4GB RAM with 64GB ROM.
