However, here we are reviewing the features of Oukitel WP2, a smartphone that will go on sale on September 25th, 2018. It has been announced since August that it will be an amazing smartphone.
Introduction to Oukitel WP2
If you’re not aware, this is a smartphone that will undergo many stress tests in your use and still survive. In a short video of about two minutes, the manufacturer put the device through what is called torture test. In the video, Oukitel was over-ran by a car, bicycle, and someone stepped over it roughly. In the short video, it shows you can even jump on it, throw it in the air and also perform some drop tests.
Design and Display of Oukitel WP2
Oukitel WP2 comes in 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, also having 2160 x 1080 pixels of 402 ppi. It is made of metal, rubber, and plastic. However, much of the frame is metallic in nature. The shape is hexagonal and that’s very much like the Oukitel smartphones that came before. you will see screws at the back openly naked to the human eye, unlike most other smartphones.
Oukitel WP2 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 screen protection. It is very rugged but the weight is 350 grams. It is water and dust resistant, although we can’t tell you yet to what extent you can dip it in water and it would still be safe for use. This Oukitel brand is available in colors of black and gold.
Camera Power

These are situated to the rear of the smartphone. But to the front, you’ll find an 8 MP selfie camera rightly positioned to satisfy your photos for use on social media.
Special features for the cameras are autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, and panorama. The video capacity to the rear is 1080p@30fps, while the selfie camera to the front is able to produce 720p@30fps.
Hardware, Software, and Storage
Hardware and Software capabilities include Android 8.0 Oreo installed, a MediaTek MT6750T 64-bit Octa-core processor and a Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. These may not be the latest of things but they are okay. There’s a built-in storage is 64GB and that is expandable to the tune of 256GB with a microSD card.
Battery Life
It is this area that got me really surprised. It is far off in performance when compared to other smartphone batteries. Oukitel WP2 is coming to the market with a gigantic 10000 mAh battery, which will definitely give you a lot of power for heavy usage without getting the low battery signal.
The Oukitel WP2 is equipped with fast charging but there’s no indication for wireless charging possibility. The battery type for Oukitel WP2 is Li-ion non-removable.
Network Connectivity
Network support for Oukitel WP2 are 2G CDMA and GSM, 3G WCDMA, and 4G LTE. Internet and connectivity include GPRS, EDGE, and LTE + HSPA. There’s Wi-Fi, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, and hotspot. Other features for connectivity include Bluetooth v4.2 with A2DP LE, NFC, USB Type-C 3.0.
Price and Availability
Oukitel WP2 will have a retail price of between $200 and $250. You can start to preorder on the 25th of September. You may find it on Gearbest from that date day onward. There is no evidence as to when Oukitel will be listed on global smartphone online shops.
