Panasonic P100 with 16GB Storage – Review, Specs and Price

The Panasonic P100 was launched last month by tech giant Panasonic, as they stormed the midrange/budget smartphone market with this beauty.

A portable, affordable and powerful smartphone, the Panasonic P100 is the perfect definition of “value for money”. Packing 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage space and retails like a budget smartphone. Without further ado, meet the Panasonic P100.

Design

Panasonic P100

An affordable beauty, the sleek plastic body is a beauty to behold. The company claimed their territory at the middle with their logo. There’s a little vertical foundation at the top middle, which houses the rear camera and LED flash. The fingerprint scanner comes underneath the flash, a quality feature that’s not on most budget smartphones.

There’s also a rear loudspeaker at the bottom right corner for quality music and bass. In addition, it’s quite bulky measuring 9.9 mm in thickness and weighing 174.8g overall. You can get the Panasonic P100 smartphone on Shopping stores in Gold and Black colors.

Display

I really don’t understand what’s really going on here, it’s like seeing two layers of bezels. Three navigation buttons at the “bottom bezel” is above another bottom bezel. While the Panasonic logo above is below another bezel which houses the selfie camera and speaker grille.

The 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is very compact and clear. Boasting of 1280 x 720 pixels in resolution and 294 pixel per inch density for immersive visuals. Furthermore, it dishes out a 16:9 aspect ratio, while the screen stretches up to 65.13% screen to body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Working underneath is the Mediatek MT6737 chipset with 4-cores of processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The cores on the Panasonic P100 reaches a clock speed of 1.25GHz and boasts of a 28nm process technology. The ARM Mali-T720 MP2 handles graphics with ease and clocks at 550MHz.

In terms of RAM space, there are two versions, the standard one with 2GB RAM and a much cheaper variant with 1GB RAM. Nonetheless, both RAM space reaches a memory speed of 640MHz for smooth multitasking of light apps. The storage space stretches up to 16GB but you can upgrade further to 128GB if you want. The P100 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

Camera

The 8MP camera on the Panasonic P100 might its lowlight, the camera is utterly disappointing. It comes with a LED flash obviously, but it could only capture 2K resolution images. With the P100, you can only capture photographs and portraits with 2828 x 2828 pixels in dimension. High-definition videos of 720 pixels are recorded at 30 frames per second. While for selfies, the 5MP shooter comes with a LED flash as well for night video calls.

Battery

Powering the Panasonic P100 is a 2200mAh removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 1.8 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
