The Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 has been launched in India as the company’s first Full View smartphone. The Eluga Ray 550 dishes out an astonishing 18:9 aspect ratio, offering more screen than bezels, unlike their first “bezel-less” phone, the Eluga C.
This device shows how ready Panasonic is for the competitive smartphone market, quite an upgrade from what the company is known for. Apart from being bezel-less, it has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space. Want to know more? Stay with me.

Design
Sports a Metal overall back that’s non-removable. This is the best looking Panasonic smartphone thus far, as the body reflects light beautifully. The dual curved antenna lines definitely adds to the beauty of the smartphone no doubt. Loving the straight symmetrical aesthetics going on at the rear, the rear camera comes first of course.
Then followed by the LED flash, before the fingerprint scanner and the Panasonic logo. There’s also a rear loudspeaker at the bottom corner for nice bass and quality music. The device measures 8.5mm in thickness and weighs just 152g overall. From the photo above, we can see it’s available in Gold, Blue and Black colors.
Display
The first Panasonic smartphone with the trending feature, a Full View display that dishes out immersive visuals. There’s another Panasonic logo at the bottom bezel, which is totally unnecessary. While the top bezel houses the selfie camera and other features.
Focusing on the screen now, the 5.7-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen would literally blow you away. Although it has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 258 pixel per inch density, movies and games on the screen is far better than on other Panasonic smartphones. An Asahi Dragontrail Glass protects the screen as it stretches up to 75.3% screen to body ratio.

Hardware and Software
The brain behind the device is a MediaTek MT6737H chip with a Quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. Disappointingly, the 4-cores of processor could only reach a maximum speed of 1.3GHz with 28nm process technology as well. Administrating graphics is the ARM Mali-T720 MP1 graphics processor with just a single core.
For multitasking, the Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 doesn’t shy away from heavy apps with its 3GB RAM, even though it has a slower memory speed of 640MHz. Internally, 32GB storage space is available as well and upgradeable up to 64GB using a memory card. The Eluga Ray 550 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
Camera
Panasonic vehemently ditched the trending dual rear camera and opted for a single 13MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture. The camera captures photographs with 4163 x 3122 pixels in dimension. The camera comes with lots of features like Panorama, Scene Mode, Self-timer, Touch focus, White balance settings, LED flash and the rest. The 8MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture, is perfect for selfies.

Battery
Powering the Panasonic Eluga Ray 550 is a 3250mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
