Partner Mobile PS2 Review, Full Specifications & Price

Partner Mobile is somewhat new Smartphone Manufacturing company that launched in Nigeria May 2016. The mobile brand will clock a year in about 2 months time. Their mobile devices are classified into three categories; The King series, the Elites series and the Prestige series. Some of their devices include the PS1, E15 and the KS1. It is also worthy of note that Ace and top Nigerian musician, Tuface Idibia (2 Baba) is the smartphone company brand ambassador.

Going by information available on their official website, Partner mobile seek to dedicate their services and devices to pursuing the latest advances in mobile phone technology.

Today, we will reviewing a member (a top member actually) of the Prestige series, the Partner Mobile PS2.

DESIGN

The Partner Mobile PS2 has a build and structure that reeks nothing but beauty. On the front, the selfie camera, the earpiece (for calls) and the proximity sensor are engineered at the top of the display. At the bottom, the three(3) soft navigation keys are arranged in the “menu, home and return/back” format from left to right.

Turning the device around to the back, you would be greeted by the conspicuous fingerprint scanner that is centrally placed at about 1/3 of the device length. The primary camera -which is ‘almost’ as big as the fingerprint scanner – is at the top right corner. And right below it, is the LED flash.

The volume adjustment buttons together with the lock/power button are, weirdly on the left hand side of the PS. Overall, the design is NICE!

DISPLAY

The Partner Mobile PS2 has a 5.5 inch IPS Full HD (FHD) display. The screen resolution is pegged at 1920*1080p. On the PS2, be sure to get nothing but the best quality images and colours of the best/optimized saturation. The movie experience on this device also holds a lot of promise.

More on the screen, it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 that keeps the screen in shape and prevents it from accidental (and maybe) planned fall against hard surfaces.

PROCESSOR & OS

The functioning of the PS2 merry-go-rounds about the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8939 Octacore A53 processor. This processor together with the huge 3GB ROM will handle both heavy and low-level processes well. Talk about texting, gaming, surfing the internet and multitasking. The Partner Mobile PS2 will handle them smoothly.

There’s a 16GB internal storage space for storing documents, app data files, pictures, videos and others. The internal memory is expandable to up to 64GB with the use of a microSD card. Sadly, despite the WOWing processor and RAM, Partner Mobile thought it best to have the PS2 run on the ‘outdated’ Android 5.1 Lollipop. This Lollipop OS is awesome, no doubts. But on a device in the caliber of the PS2, something better is expected. Really sad.

CAMERA

To me, the camera is actually the biggest selling point of this device. With a 20 megapixel shooter embedded at the back, and with LED flash, beautiful, nice and crystal clear images is the expected end-product.

For your selfie needs, the 13 megapixel secondary camera will handle them perfectly, even more than you expect.

BATTERY

The Non-Removable 3500 mAh Lithium-ion Battery pack on the PS2 will give you 15 hours of talk-time and can go up to 15 days on standby. The battery is quite enough, at least for light users. Heavy smartphone users should be able to get up to 10-12 hours.

P.S – Remember that all time usage time sy=tipulated above all depends on intensity of usage.

CONCLUSION

The Partner Mobile PS2 is, to me, more than a mid-range smartphone but still cant be classified as a premium high-end device. Its specs and feaures are amazing. The camera, processor and even battery. Partner Mobile did a great job with the design too. Partner mobile should keep the good work up and incorporate some elements of improvement to some aspect of the PS2 like the outdated OS and the little ROM. They shall get there!

  1. Hi!
May I thank you/TechVaz for your reviews on the PS2 mobile. It is quite informative and I really enjoyed the style.
However can you please tell more about the implications of:
    1. The poor internal memory capacity of the PS2 phone. As you pointed out, the 128 MB internal memory makes a mess of all the powerful & beautiful features of the phone but does the phone have option of downloading directly to, and or moving apps to MSDCard, to and run them from there to help make up for this ‘error’ in a sense? For instance some single apps are up over 128MB!
    2. Some reviews place the OS version of the phone at Android 6 but your s says it is Android 5.1…Which is the correct OS android version? Is the PS2 OS upgradeable?
I am thinking of buying Nokia 3.1 Plus. I am put off by the N55,800 price.
    3. Please can you recommend a comparative strong and efficient phone of this/SAME class (with similar or better features) that I can buy at N35,000 or below price?

    Thank you.
