The Samsung Galaxy On6 has been introduced in India today as latest smartphone from the On series. However, the device looks a lot like the Galaxy J6 smartphone we reviewed a couple of weeks ago.

The Galaxy On6 sports a Super AMOLED full vision display with a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. It’s powered by an octa-core processor and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo as well. Lets find out more.
Design
The On6 was built with Plastic just like the Galaxy J6 and it looks very attractive as well. From afar you’ll definitely have a clue it’s a Samsung mid-range smartphone. The features as the rear is pretty simple and less dramatic. The fingerprint scanner grants quick access to the device in 0.1s.
The rear camera comes first at the top middle, while a fingerprint scanner follows underneath. It’s very lightweight, weighing just 154g. It also measures 8.2mm in thickness and available in Black, Gold and Blue colors.
Display
The device sports the traditional 18.5:9 ratio screen we typically see on most Samsung mid-range smartphones this year. The screen stretches all the way to the sides with no narrow bezels in sight, while the bezels at the top and bottom corner are very thick.
The 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen might be a little too small in a big screen world. However, it has a resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels and 294 pixel per inch density, bringing out stunning visuals. The screen could only get to 75.9% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Running the race underneath is the Exynos 7870 which was built on a 14nm FinFET leading-edge technology and comes with 8-cores of processor clocking at 1.6GHz. In the graphics department, the Mali-T830 MP1 graphics card does its job.
You get to choose between two options in terms of storage and RAM. There’s one with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, then the cheaper variant has just 32GB storage and 3GB RAM. Both storage space are upgradeable up to 256GB using a memory card and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.
Camera
The 13MP rear camera here has f/1.9 aperture and 28mm lens size, letting enough light in. The camera comes with autofocus, LED flash, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and other features. Videos of 1080p can be shot @30fps. While the 8MP selfie camera has f/1.9 aperture and a LED flash.
Battery
Powering the Samsung Galaxy On6 is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.8 hours.
