Sharp Aquos Sense3 Quick Review, Specs/Features & Price

Sharp Sense3 or Sharp Aquos Sense3 is among the first of Sense smartphones from Sharp smartphone maker. There are three things clear from here. We see that Sharp is still focused on OLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon, and a good battery. The company appears to be not so interested in impressing anyone through its camera features as seen below. The phone has been announced in September 2019.

Sharp Aquos Sense3 Design and Display

Aquos Sense3 is made of beautiful body design materials. Dimensions are 147 x 70 x 8.9 mm and it weighs 167 grams. moderate indeed and is lightweight in my own opinion. The colors of this device are white, grey and orange. I believe Sharp does well here and is trying to do something distinct with the colors of the smartphone. The phone appears to be waterproof since it has IP68 certification which gives it protection from water and dust. Also, it has a front-mounted fingerprint sensor.

On the display there is Sharp IGZO, HD+ OLED capacitive touchscreen glass display. The size of the display is 5.5 inches, while the resolution is 1080 x 2160 which to me is a good enough resolution for a screen this large, and of course, other smartphone makers are imitation this pixel resolutions. Also noted is the regular 16 million colors in the display, and for protection, there is Corning Gorilla glass screen.  The pixel density is 439 ppi.

Camera Features

This Sharp Aquos Sense3 is a dual rear camera phone. As such, the main rear camera is 12 MP EIS and another 12 MP ultra wide feature. For selfies there is 8 MP f/2.2 front camera which also arrives in its own unique manner but without flash power. Good camera features in the device include auto focus, touch focus, continuous shooting and others.

Hardware and Software

Sharp Aquos Sense3 runs on Android 9.0 Pie on Custom user interface. Additionally, this smartphone is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset of 64-bit processor. The CPU is dual Octa core ARM Cortex-A53. But the GPU is Adreno 508, which tells us the solidity of features in the device.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

This smartphone storage capacity is 4GB which the user is unable to expand. However, the 64GB internal memory is able to increase by means of TBA card slot up to an undisclosed level. There are many sensors here in this mobile phone and they are proximity, light, accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and fingerprint.

Network and Connectivity

The Sharp Aquos Sense3 brings with it all the features of a 4G Android smartphone and all other components such as Bluetooth v5.0, Wifi, GPS, A-GPS, and others like it. There is also NFC, headphone jack, and the like. The phone makes use of two nano SIM cards.

Battery Power

Powering the Sharp Aquos Sense3 device is Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery which is non-removable. That’s excellent for backup. Alas! There is no wireless charging and no fast charging technology herein. Sharp probably doesn’t want to impress here as well.

Pros

  • High resolution display
  • Good camera
  • Excellent processors
  • Ample storage space
  • Waterproof

Cons

  • No wireless or fast charging support

Price and Availability

Unfortunately, Sharp Aquos Sense3 smartphone official price is unknown and probably not set yet. Check online for the best price or you may be fortunate to find a bonanza or price slash when you want to purchase it. As for availability, the smartphone is yet to be out from the factory.
