The Tecno POP 1S Pro was introduced alongside the POP 1S as a slightly upgraded variant of the POP 1 and POP 1 Pro budget-friendly offerings from Tecno Mobile.

Apart from sporting the “FullView for FullFun” screen, the Pro version packs 2GB of RAM and a crystal clear 13MP AF rear camera. The new device also runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition and has “Rapid 4G LTE” connectivity.
Design
When it comes to design, the POP 1S Pro looks exactly like the POP 1S we reviewed earlier, you won’t know the difference just by looking at the body. It comes with the same curved antenna lines at the top and bottom corner.
It sports a fingerprint scanner in its usual position as well, letting you take selfies with ease. It measures 8.6mm in thickness when you turn to the sides. The device will be available in Gold, Blue and Black colors as well.
Display
Tecno is bringing the trending FullView display to the POP series for Full Fun. The POP 1S sports a gorgeous 18:9 screen, this is ready to thrill you with some entertainment. Of course, the usual features are present at the top bezels.
It has the same 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which is clear enough. The screen boasts 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution and 293 pixel per inch density. There’s a 2.5D curved glass on top as well for protection.
Hardware and Software
The MediaTek MT6580 runs the race underneath and comes with its 28nm process node. There’s an octa-core processor reaching a fast speed of 1.28GHz. While the ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processor comes with 2-cores.
As expected, the POP 1S Pro comes with 2GB of RAM, this should allow you multitask through more apps. The internal storage is still pegged at 16GB, however you can expand up to 128GB. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box.
Camera
For photography, the pixels on the rear camera has been increased. You now get to experiment with a 13MP autofocus camera with a dual-LED flash, the camera comes with the usual features as well. For selfies, you still get the same 5MP selfie camera with LED flash.
Battery
Powering the Tecno POP 1S Pro is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2.5 hours.
