The latest Qualcomm mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8150 has not yet been officially announced. However, according to rumors, it was he who became the “heart” of the first flexible smartphone, the Flex Pai.

Although the technical characteristics of this chipset are not yet known, in the Geekbench database it has already appeared with the mysterious results of the tests.

According to the information available, the chipset consists of four Kryo Silver cores designed to perform routine tasks, two Kryo Gold, with faster and more stable speeds and two Kryo Gold Plus, which increase performance in heavy-duty tasks. resources. According to the published data, the tests were carried out on a still unnamed smartphone with 6 GB of RAM; Probably, it is an engineering sample that could be in the testing phase.

As a result of the single-core test, the processor was able to obtain 3,181 points, and in the multi-core test, it showed the result at 10,084 points.

Despite the refined process and architectural improvements, with a single-core load, the Snapdragon 8150 is not capable of winning the Kirin 980 of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, nor does it do so against the S9 and the iPhone XS Max. We see that you need all the cores to surpass the Mate 20Pro.

There is no detailed information on the new generation of Snapdragon yet. Probably, Qualcomm will present an updated line of mobile processors in early December. In this new line, we will find the new chipset that would arrive with the Mi 9 and the Mi Mix 3S. Smartphones that we will see arrive in the second quarter of 2019, and if nothing happens before then. By the time this chipset can be seen it is not the Snapdragon 45 and that would be its new update, the so-called 8150.

We hope that Qualcomm can get more potential from this chip, otherwise, this processor will not give the expected performance during 2019 and Samsung, Huawei and Apple will eat it with new updates on their existing chipsets.
