The YouTube App Now Supports Digital Wellbeing – Displays the Time Spent Watching Video

Over the past three months, YouTube added a special feature to remind users to stop watching videos. This is a step towards consumer health. In line with the introduction of Digital Wellbeing on Android Pie, YouTube can now display the time spent watching videos.

In the YouTube app for Android, if you tap on your profile picture there will be a ‘Time Watched‘ option. In it, there’s a time statistic that you’ve spent watching videos on YouTube daily, overnight, weekly, and daily average. Users can also set notifications to watch only a few videos a day through ‘Schedule Digest‘.

Interestingly, this YouTube data will be preserved with Digital Wellbeing and users can view and control YouTube viewing time.
