Ulefone Armor X has finally been announced by the company as the update of the Armor 2S that was released in December. That’s barely two months ago, but Ulefone had to quickly jump on the “X” trend. The affordable rugged smartphone is very durable and powerful, coming with an IP68 certified body and 5000mAh battery. Design
Talk about standing the test of time and falls, the Armor X ain’t here to play. Its made from a very rugged material with a combination of both Metal and Plastic. Both elements came together to give birth to this powerhouse. Dual rear camera are visible at the back, as they sit vertically in the Metal top corner. The dual-LED flash at the back is beside the first camera from the top. There are no fingerprint scanner available at the back, and if you look closely at the back panel, you’ll notice the wireless charging feature.
Another interesting feature about the design is the IP68 certification, which is normal for a rugged smartphone. Moving on to the sides now, okay this is interesting, the fingerprint scanner is at the side now. To the other side, the volume keys and power button is present. Furthermore, it measures 14.5 mm in thickness which is very bulky, and weighs 270g. According to the company, the water and dust resistant phone is only available in Black and Rose Gold.
Display
You can hardly see a rugged smartphone without bezels. If you think about, bezels does help in protecting the screen in some way. It sports three navigation buttons as well at the bottom bezel, while the selfie camera and other features are at the top.
The 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution and a 24 bit color depth. For immersive displays it has 295.41 pixel per inch density and protecting the screen is a Corning Gorilla Glass. The multi-touch screen is scratch, water and dust resistant, reaching up to 61.57% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
The chip under this beast is the MediaTek MT6739 with Quad-Core processor which reaches a clock speed of 1.3GHz. It has a 64-bit CPU architecture, 28nm process technology and a PowerVR GE8100 graphics processor. The graphics processing unit reaches a maximum speed of 570MHz.
Enjoy smooth multitasking with the 2GB RAM that boasts of a memory speed of 667MHz. For storage the 16GB internal storage space should store all your files. If you need more space on the Armor X you can upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. The Armor X runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
The 13MP + 5MP dual rear shooter on this beast captures 4K resolution images. The camera comes with a dual-LED flash and other quality features that help take photographs with 4163 x 3122 pixels in dimension. Video resolution can be as high as 1080pixels at 30 frames per second. While the 8MP selfie camera should work magic even when underwater.
Battery
Powering the Ulefone Armor X is a 5000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology support. Even with the fast charging feature it might take up to 3 hours to fully charge the device.

Ulefone device is a real Tank, looks more like a beast. The way it’s built, definitely a rugged phone. It will cost a lot here in Nigeria, not just because of how strong its looks, it also got massive features in it.
