Vivo Y5 Specs Review, 5000MAH Battery, 4GB RAM, Quad Camera Phone

Yes, Vivo Y5 is really large at the display screen. That probably adds to the weight of the device. Yet, when we look at other areas of the phone we can really see why it deserves our attention. Scheduled for release on April 25, 2019, fans are already pent up at what Vivo has to offer this time.

Yet, as you can see in the title, this phone already has a lot to offer. One thing so good about the product is the sheer number of hours the user can make use of it without charging. It is not a rugged phone but in the battery aspect, it seems to catch up.

Design and Display

The Vivo Y5 body design is plastic. It is not a waterproof technology device but it comes with fingerprint sensor. It comes in blue and gold colors.

At the display and screen setup, we see IPS, LCD capacitive touchscreen type. The size is 6.35 inches. The screen is 1544 x 720 pixels resolution, 24 bit color depth. It has 16 million colors, 268 PPI, scratch resistant, 2.5D curved glass screen. Screen to body ratio is 81.68 percent.

Camera Features

There are four camera setup in the Vivo Y5; three at the rear and one at the front. The ones at the rear are 13 MP, 8 MP, and 2 MP. These are able to produce 4160 x 3120 image dimensions, they come in full HD recording, fortified with auto focus and touch focus. Other features are continuous shooting, digital zoom, geotagging, panorama, HDR and more. At the front for selfies is a 16 MP lens which has some nice features as well. Also, there is LED flash available for all the cameras.

Hardware & Software

At the hardware department, there is MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) chipset (SoC),  64-bit architecture and process technology 12nm. Similarly, the CPU is Octa core, while the GPU is PowerVR GE8320, 680 MHz. However, primarily, the Vivo Y5 runs on Android 9.0 Pie which is built on Funtouch OS user interface.

Storage Capacity and Sensors

Storage capacity looks attractive at 4GB of RAM which cannot be expanded at all. Things are different at the internal storage which is in two variants of 64GB and 128GB. With the use of microSD card the user can boost things up to 256GB. The following sensors can be found in the phone; proximity, light, accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and fingerprint.

Network and Connectivity

At the network technology department is a robust feature of 2G, 3G, and 4G. The Vivo Y5 actually has GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, FDD-LTE. It means the phone is a 4G Android. There are two nano SIM slots to make network connectivity operate optimally.

Battery Life

Powering the device is a Li-Po 5000 mAh non-removable battery. There is no wireless charging technology but there is fast charging technology option. Accordingly, the standby time is up to 440 hours, whereas the talk time is up to 18 hours.

Price and Availability

The official price of Vivo Y5 has not been set. The phone is scheduled for release on April 21. Probably, the official price will be announced as well. Thereafter, the mobile device will be available for purchase.
