The Vivo Y71i has been launched in India as the watered-down variant of the Y71 mid-range smartphone. This cheaper variant targets those on a tight budget coming with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
Vivo brought on the Snapdragon 425 entry-level chipset to do the work here. But one of its highlights is the 18:9 aspect ratio full screen, it also supports 4G LTE and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Design
The Y71i has a plastic-like body just like its bigger sibling, and of course, there’s no fingerprint scanner here again. For biometric access, you have to make use of the Face ID feature.
The rear camera and LED flash are horizontal at the top left corner. The device measures just 7.8mm in thickness and weighs 150g overall. It’s available in Gold, Black and Rose-Gold colors.
Display
If you’re into 18:9 full view screen then you would definitely love this. It has a standard display with the screen stretching all the way to the sides. This should display taller visuals in landscape mode, while the top and bottom bezels are still visible.
The 5.99-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution and 269 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. It stretches up to 78% screen-to-body ratio and a 2.5D Glass on top.
Hardware and Software
Behind the screen, the Snapdragon 425 from Qualcomm is doing its job. Although, it was manufactured in a 28nm process technology and comes with 4-cores of processor reaching a max speed of 1.4GHz. While the Adreno 308 graphics processor clocks at 500MHz.
For multiasking, you get 2GB of RAM, this reaches a fast memory speed of 800MHz. While in the storage department, it has 16GB space available with a slot to expand up to 256GB using a memory card. The V71i runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch 4.0 OS.
Camera
It’s equipped with an 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture for all your photography needs. While the 5MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture as well and supports Face ID.
Battery
Powering the Vivo Y71i is a 3360mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2.2 hours.
