According to reports, HMD Global might announce a new Nokia phone very soon. This is based on the fact that FCC just approved a new phone with multiple model numbers. There are some important details about the phone which can be gotten from the certification documents.
The phone’s model number is listed as TA-1188 but it has variants which are listed as TA-1183 and TA-1184. TA-1188 is believed to be the global variant while TA-1183 and TA-1184 are the Indian and Chinese variants respectively. TA-1188 was certified by Russia’s Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
The phone is given the codename “Wasp”. According to the documents, the phone comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and it also features a 3.5mm audio jack. The Nokia TA-1184 also features dual SIM support, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and support for LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, and 17.
The phone’s dimensions are 145.96mm long, 70.56mm wide, and 154.83mm diagonally. Rough estimations calculate the screen to be a 6.1-inch display. We do not know yet if the phone has a notch since there were no photos as well as what type of display it is.
The phone is most likely a mid-range smartphone. There are also some speculations suggesting that this is the Nokia 5.2 which will succeed the Nokia 5.1 which was launched last August.
