How To Activate MTN Missed Calls Notification (MCN)/Missed Calls Alert (MCA)

The MTN Missed Call Notification (MCN) service is a new feature from MTN Nigeria that allows you get missed call notifications of everyone when your phone was offline, out of service area or switched off.  Once the phone is active, or just turned on, you will receive an SMS which will inform about the phone numbers that tried to reach you, the number of attempts and the time and date of the most recent call. This service is available to all old and new MTN customers. This service does not require airtime before subscribing to it, and all notifications are FREE via SMS. The messages are valid for two days from the date of the missed call.

However, it is no surprising as other networks like Etisalat and GLO have already been running this service in Nigeria. Although, MTN has been running this service in other countries with a different name as MTN Missed Call Alert (MCA).

HOW TO ACTIVATE MTN MISSED CALLS NOTIFICATION (MCN) OR MISSED CALLS ALERT (MCA)

To activate your MTN SIM to start receiving missed call notifications you have to subscribe to the MTN MCN service to start experiencing it. All you got to do is this:

• Send MCN to 131 as SMS
• Moreover, wait for a confirmation message saying:

Y’ello! You have successfully subscribed to Missed Call Alert for free. You will now receive notifications for all calls missed. To opt-out, text NOMCN to 131.

HOW TO DEACTIVATE MTN MISSED CALLS NOTIFICATION (MCN) OR MISSED CALLS ALERT (MCA)

To unsubscribe from this service, kindly send NOMCN to 131, and you will get a confirmation message saying:

Y’ello! You have successfully unsubscribed from Missed Call Alert for free. You have stopped receiving notifications for all calls missed. To opt-out, text MCN to 131.
