Many smartphones from Elephone are fans favorites. The Elephone A3 is no exception. This smartphone is expected during the last quarter of 2018, which means that we will soon have in the palm of our hands. It comes with four cameras, a moderate internal memory, but it isn’t a 4G smartphone. This is exceptional!
Add to that, Elephone A3 sells for quite below $100 and it amazingly comes with a large battery. In this review, we will examine the design, display, cameras, performance, battery, and other features of Elephone A3.
Design and Display
Body design of this smartphone is mainly plastic. The dimensions and weight are not specified yet. However, we know it comes in black, blue and red colors. This device is not water resistant but it has fingerprint sensor and face recognition technology.
Display type is IPS LCD capacitive touch screen of multi-touch screen, probably up to 10 fingers. Display colors are 16 million. Furthermore, the screen size is 5.54 inches. It has no secondary display. The pixel resolution is 1280 x 640, the pixel density is 263 ppi and aspect ratio is 18:9. Another good feature of the device is 2.5D curved glass.
Camera Features of Elephone A3
At the camera department there are two main lenses of 16 MP plus 2 MP at the rear. These come with LED flash. The secondary dual camera to the front also are 16 MP plus 2 MP at the rear which also come with LED flash. The video performance is 1080p@30fps.
Other camera features are geotagging, auto focus, HDR, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and time-lapse.
Hardware and Software
Android OS v8.1 Oreo is the operating system which runs in the Elephone A3. Surely, it will upgrade to the latest Android in due time. Furthermore, MediaTek MT6580 with process technology 28nm and 32-bit architecture is the chipset inside the device. There is also 1.3 Quad-core Cortex A7 CPU and Mali 400 MP2 GPU.
Storage Capacity and Sensors
Internal memory of Elephone A3 is 2GB of RAM which not expandable. However, the internal storage of 16GB can be increased up to 64GB with the use of a micro SD card. Sensors in the device include accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, and fingerprint.
Network and Connectivity
Elephone A3 is actually not an all-rounder in the sense that it has 2G and 3G networks. It is therefore enabled for GSM and HSPA. To make these work properly, there is dual nano SIM card slot in the device.
Other connectivity components are Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, headphone jack, and micro USB v2.0, Type C. However, there are no NFC, infrared, or HDMI in this device.
Battery Life of Elephone A3
Powering the device is a Li-Po 5000 mAh non-removable battery which has no wireless charging technology and has no fast charging option. We cannot tell about talk time and standby time.

Elephone A3 sells for $89.99 USD which is undoubtedly the best price right now on the market. About availability, the smartphone is not quite available and will be released soon.
