Elephone A5 Review – 20MP Camera, Performance, Price, & Full Specs

Elephone is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has promised to shine light on the smartphone market with the Elephone A5. The company has a series of Elephone smartphones in the works and promises to launch them soon.

The Elephone A5 device sports some pretty design and pacs together some amazing midrange hardware inside. One of these is known as the MediaTek Helio.

The information reaching us is not just about the full specifications of Elephone A5 but also on the impact of MediaTek Helio processor. Elephone in its latest report tried to explain what makes this new technology worth considering.

Sometime ago, they also compared the Elephone A5 (Not yet in the market) with other smartphones such as Honor, Vivo, and Apple iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone X and XS Max. Let’s have a look at what the Antutu reveals about the Elephone A5.

In the Antutu report, Elephone A5 scores as high as 130k points. This is somewhat in the respectable range for any device these days. It is quite in the range of the Vivo X21 UD, which boasts a Snapdragon 660.

Design and Display

Elephone A5 comes with 6.18 inches display screen with 2240 x 1080 resolutions. It is made of curved Glass. The display type is OGS bezel-less with 500 cd/m brightness. The security sensors available are fingerprint scanner, proximity,, light, gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass.

Camera Features

The camera features of Elephone A5 are as follows – Triple cameras, yes – the rear is dual 16 MP plus 16 MP of dual LED flash. The secondary (selfie) camera is 20 MP but without flash. We can’t tell you now if it has auto focus, one of the best ingredients for an Android smartphone.

Hardware and Software

The primary processor herein for Elephone A5 is MediaTek P23 with cores 8, and frequency 2 GHz. The architecture here is 64-bit. The CPU architecture is 8 core ARM Cortex-A53 2 GHz. It also runs on Android 8.1 Oreo to be upgraded to the latest Android 9 Pie whenever the user wants.

Storage Information

There’s provision for 6GB RAM of 64GB ROM (internal Storage). A microSD card can be used to further boost storage up to 256GB. That’s ample space for medium power users.

Battery Life

Battery capacity is 3300 mAh non-removable component which is able to sustain the device for up to two days in normal mode. Working hours in hard mode is about seven hours. Stand-by time is five to six days. There’s also fast charging capability but no wireless charging. Talk time is 25 hours.

Network and Connectivity

The networks found on Elephone A5 are 2G (GSM), 3G (WCDMA), and 4G (LTE). These come in various internet connection speeds. 4G is the fastest though. Other network components are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, mobile hotspot, microUSB 2.0.

The smartphone is supported with dual SIM slots of Nano SIMs both. There’s no NFC but it supports A-GPS, GPS, and GLONASS.

Price and Availability

The price of Elephone A5 is not yet published on the manufacturer website and we are hoping that that Elephone will release this product as soon as possible. The smartphone has been described by some as the smartphone that all of us deserve.
