How To Add LastPass To Your Safari Browser’s Toolbar

Using several passwords is very key when it comes to your online security. Luckily for you, free programs like LastPass are available to make everything easier for you online. The password manager actually helps to create encrypted passwords for any login credentials you decide to add, you just have to always remember your LastPass master password.

If you wish to create a LastPass account, creating a strong master password is required. It must be a minimum of 12 digits and it has to include upper case letters, numbers, and symbols. This password will be encrypted once it is created, therefore if you do not remember it, LastPass cannot recover it on your behalf. It also means that if any data leaks occur, your master password will not be in that database.

LastPass also makes use of PBKDF2-SHA256 to hash your master password, which helps to keep out hackers. How you may ask? More often than not, when a hacker attempts to break into your account with a database of leaked passwords, he or she will guess billions of passwords a second. However, with PBKDF2-SHA256 hashing, he or she will only be able to guess a few thousand per second.

To make it more useful, Safari users are allowed to add LastPass to their Mac toolbar when they browse, with the LastPass toolbar extension for Safari. To help you with this, see How To Add LastPass To Your Safari Browser’s Toolbar:
