Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design – Quad-Camera, Price, Availability, Performance & Full Specs

Huawei has shocked the world with its upcoming smartphone known as Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design. For one thing, it looks very much like the Mate 20 Pro in design, and when you hold it, you feel like you are holding the latter too much. This device will be up for pre-order on November 16, 2018.

For another, it is too expensive for a mid-range smartphone. And it’s not just about the price. It’s got a notch above the screen just like the Mate 20 Pro had when it was released earlier this year. Let us check out the full performance specifications of the Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design and see if we can praise it for the way it works.

Design and Display

Body dimensions of Mate 20 RS are 157.8 x 72.3 x 9.7 mm. It weighs 187 grams. However, the front is made of glass, the rear is made of leather and glass, combined with aluminum frame. It is dust and water resistant. You could actually dip it in water up to meters down for 30 minutes and there will be no problem.

Display type is AMOLED capacitive touch screen with 16 million colors. The screen size is 6.39 inches, and it comes with resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels. Similarly, it has 87.9 percent screen to body ratio, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 538 pixels per inch density. Protection on it is Corning Gorilla Glass unspecified at the moment.

It comes in black and red colors.

Camera Features of Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design

Main camera setup is triple cameras. There is the 40 MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, another of 20 MP with f/2.2 aperture, and still another of 8 MP with f/2.4 aperture. These come with such features as Leica optics, dual LED tone flash, panorama, HDR and more. As you can expect, all the video recordings here at the rear are superb.

For the secondary to the front (selfie) there is a single 24 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. In view of this, we can confidently say the Mate 20 RS is really equipped at the camera department more than most smartphones. A most noticeable feature here is the HDR.

Hardware and Software

Happily enough, the Huawei Mate 20 RS is one of the few smartphones that will arrive the market with Android 9 Pie. This is the latest operating system in Android mobile smartphones. Furthermore, the chipset found in the Huawei Mate 20 RS is Hisilicon Kirin 980 with 7nm. There is also the CPU which is Octa-core. The GPU is Mali-G76 MP10.

Storage Capacity

This area is where another big deal is. Experts are saying that the storage capacity is perhaps the single most important reason for the Huawei Mate 20 RS being expensive. There are two variants of 8GB RAM/256GB ROM, and 8GB RAM/512GB ROM. It’s almost like users are basically paying for camera and storage space. Yet, there is also a microSD card to boost that capacity upward.

Network and Connectivity

For the network and connectivity, it is consisting of GSM, HSPA, and LTE. This means that Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design is able to handle 2G, 3G, and 4G internet networks. Furthermore, there are also components for connectivity such as the normal ones we find in smartphones. These are Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, infrared port, NFC, microUSB 3.1, Type-C, USB on the go, etc.

Also, there is space for two SIM cards. It appears the space can only accommodate one Nano SIM card, while both can accommodate dual hybrid SIM cards.

Battery Life in Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design

There is provision for 4200 mAh Li-Po battery for the device. It comes with both quick charging and wireless charging.

Price and Availability

Mate 20 RS base model, the 8GB/256GB will cost $1960 USD. Nevertheless, the higher variant of 8GB/512GB will cost $2,425 USD. The smartphone will be available for pre-order on November 16, 2018. The previous release date of October 2018 has been cancelled.
