The second-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, Huwaei is again in a huge problem because the US has again added Huawei to the entity list. This means that Huawei can no longer do business with US companies.
Google has confirmed to the Verge that the upcoming Huawei’s flagship Mate 30 will not be shipped with Google’s apps and services like Play Store, Google Maps, YouTube etc. However, Huawei Mate 30 will run on Android OS because it is open-source software. The phone will run on AOSP, which lacks Google’s apps and services.
The US Commerce Department provided a three-month relief period to Huwaei. The US did this to give a suitable time period to Huwaei so that the company could manage and provide service and support including software updates and patches to all the Huwaei smartphone existing in the market on or before May 16, 2019. And it is to be noted that the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 and Mate X are out of this list.
It may happen that Google might seek some type of relief from the Commerce Department on the ban on doing business with Huawei. It is to be noted that 130 similar applications have been submitted to the department, but none of them has been approved yet.
Huawei may also launch its Huawei Mate 30 with its recently launched Harmony OS. But the same issue arises again, you will not get Google apps and services here too.
There are possibilities that Huwaei could extend its Mate 30 smartphone launch date which is September 18 due to the current issue. It is going to be really a tough issue for Huawei and interesting to see how Huwaei manages to overcome this issue.
