Design
Comes with a Plastic overall body just like most budget smartphones, but looks more attractive than its predecessor. Sports a simple symmetrical train at the rear, starting with the rear camera, LED flash then the fingerprint scanner.
It looks like the K smartphones released by the company during the 2018 Mobile World Congress. But at the middle, the K9 engraving is visible to differenciate the smartphones. Turning over to the sides, it measures 8.2 mm in thickness and weighs 152g overall.
Display
The K series from LG wouldn’t be going bezel-less anytime soon obviously. The device comes with a chunk of bezels, dishing out the usual 16:9 aspect ratio. The top and bottom bezel can be reduced if they wanted to, its obviously not time yet for LG.
The 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen displays like most budget smartphone though. With a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 294 pixel per inch density, every details on the screen should be clear enough for users. The screen could on stretch up to 64.50% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chip with Quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-cores of processor clocks at 1.3GHz and boasts of a 28nm process technology. The Qualcomm Adreno 304 graphics processor underneath reaches a speed of 400MHz.
Multitask through apps easily with 2GB RAM space available on the LG K9. The RAM space has a memory speed of 533 MHz, while 16GB is available to store all files and apps. The storage space can if course be upgraded up to 32GB with a memory card. The LG K9 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
The 8MP shooter at the rear might be a disappointment to some, as the camera captures just 3K resolution images. The camera has f/2.2 aperture, comes with a LED flash and other features capturing photographs with 3266 x 2449 pixels in dimension. For selfies, there’s a 5MP selfie camera at the top bezel.
Battery
Powering the LG K9 is a 2500mAh removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2-3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
