Elephone, one of the smartphone manufacturers in China has announced several upcoming phones on their website this year. We are waiting to catch a glimpse of the reality of the technical specifications and features the firm has put forward.
Our main concern right now is the Elephone A6 announced in the month of September 2018, a mobile device recently announced together with Elephone A5. See the full specifications of Elephone A5 here.
Both phones are expected to be revealed later in October at the event known as Hong Kong Global Resources Mobile Electronics Exhibition. The A6 shares some similarities with the A5. Therefore, here we will also examine the strengths and weaknesses of the A6.
Design and Display of Elephone A6
A6 will feature a 6.18-inch full-view water-drop notch with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The screen to body ratio of the device is 90.8. I have not seen anything higher than that in any mobile phone yet, though Vivo promises to do better than that in the near future. The screen resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels of AMOLED FDH+ display.
The information about weight and dimension is not yet known. However, we do know that it is predominantly metallic in build. The sensors are fingerprint, ambient light, accelerometer, and proximity. It comes in blue, midnight black, and ice blue colors.
Camera Features
There will be triple rear cameras for Elephone A6 but the company haven’t released details of exactly how capable they are going to be or what megapixels they will be. However, the company revealed that the triple rear cameras will have auto-focus, and LED flash capabilities. The video recording will be 1080p@30fps.
For the front-facing camera, it is 16 MP dual shooters equipped with flash capabilities.
Hardware and Software
The processor type is MediaTek Helio P60, 64-bit Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53. For the graphics department, there is ARM Mali-G72 MP3 at 800MHz GPU. The operating system is Android 8.1 Oreo which will update to latest Android.
Elephone A6 Storage Capacity
There’s 6GB RAM for internal memory, while there’s the internal storage of 64GB. Also, there’s also the other variant of 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The external storage can be expanded through the use of a microSD up to 256GB.
Network Connectivity
Elephone A6 has the capacity for 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. The 2G is GSM, GPRS, and EDGE compliant, while the 3G is UMT, WCDMA, and EDGE compliant. Furthermore, the 4G, which is the fastest of all internet networks, is LTE compliant.
Apart from the provision for dual Nano SIM slots, there’s also Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi Direct, mobile hotspot, GPS, without indication of NFC. However, users can enjoy the microUSB v2.0.
Battery Life
The battery type and capacity in Elephone A6 is a non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh. This is formidable enough by our estimates and users can count on a good battery backup on their mobile phone. Other information about battery life for Elephone A6 may be revealed later.
Price and Availability
Elephone has already announced this device in the month of September 2018. The price and pre-sale of the new Elephone A6 is not revealed yet. If you visit their website, you will see that prospective buyers can contact the company and learn more about the device.
