A stable version of the OxygenOS 9.0 has been rolled out for the OnePlus 6 device which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. It has also been confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 6T will run Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with OxygenOS 9.0 skin on top. This has prompted users of the older OnePlus devices to ask if there would also be an Android 9.0 Pie Update for their devices. Well, OnePlus CEO has replied.
He replied via a post on weibo saying that the users of the OnePlus 3, 3T, 5 and 5T devices should be rest assured that the Android 9.0 Pie Update is definitely coming to their devices. However, their engineers would need some time to make it possible. Evidently, the OnePlus 5 and 5T will definitely be getting the update first before OnePlus 3 and 3T soon after.
There was no specific date given for the roll out of the Android update or if the beta testing has started but one thing is for sure; it is definitely coming.
