Oppo has done it again! Here is the new Oppo A7 that was announced and released in the month of November 2018. The design of this mobile phone has been described as breathtaking, having been crafted with magnesium alloy with a great detail to polishing effect.
In addition, the new Oppo A7 boasts of 3D heat-curved sheet and grating pattern which allows for better hand grip. However, of more importance is the comparison of price and performance of Oppo A7, and that we shall examine below.
Design and Display of Oppo A7
Body design material in the device is magnesium alloy. Its weight is 158 grams and dimensions are 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.1 mm. It is not water resistant. Oppo A7 comes in glaze blue, and glaring gold color.
Display type is HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touch screen of 16 million colors. The screen size is 6.39 inches. Moreover, the pixels resolution is 720 x 1520, pixel density is 271 ppi, screen to body ratio stands at 81.6 percent, and aspect ratio is 19:9. Another screen feature of the device is 2.5D curved glass, multi-touch, and Gorilla Glass 3. There is no secondary display in this device.
Camera Features
At the camera department, there are two lenses to the rear of Oppo A7. One is a primary 13 MP camera, while the other is 2 MP. These come with dual LED flash.
At the front, the secondary selfie camera is 16 MP f/2.0 aperture. It comes without front flash technology. Essentially, the video performance in the camera is 1080p@30fps. Camera features include geotagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, auto focus, HDR, time lapse, etc.
Hardware and Software in Oppo A7
Android OS v8.1 Oreo is primary software in the device. It comes in with Color OS 5.1 user interface. However, the operating system is supported by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450, process technology 14nm, and 64-bit architecture. Furthermore, the CPU is Octa-core 1.8 GHz 8-Cores, and GPU is Adreno 506 2-Cores.
Storage Capacity and Oppo A7 Sensors
For memory, there are 3GB/4GB of RAM provided for the variants. It cannot be expanded and the internal storage 32GB of ROM which can be expanded up to 256GB with a microSD card. Sensors in the mobile phone include accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, compass, and fingerprint (rear).
Network and Connectivity Options
There are 2G, 3G, and 4G internet networks made available in the device. Supported networks are GSM, WCDMA, and LTE. There is also provision for two Nano SIM card slots, dual standby.
Other connectivity components are Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, Micro USB 2.0, HDMI, etc. There is no infrared or NFC in the device.
Battery Life
Powering the device is the Li-Ion 4230 mAh non-removable battery that offers no wireless charging but there is fast charging option here. Talk time and standby time cannot be specified at this time. However, the device can be charged from zero percent to 100 percent on fast charging technology in just two hours.
Price and Availability of Oppo A7
Pricing of the device starts at $220 USD for the 4GB of RAM variant. Considering that price differs from store to store, we cannot assure you of the best price you can get it out there. As for availability, Oppo A7 will be released on 13th November 2018. At that time, prices will be clearer.
