Oppo A71 Specifications Review and Price

By now, everyone should at least know that Oppo is a big smartphone manufacturer, even if you don’t use their devices. We have seen great devices from the brand in the past like the Oppo F1 with a high quality 8 MP front camera, Oppo F3 and Oppo F3 Plus, and Oppo R11 Barcelona Edition. That’s not all, last year, statistical reports showed that Oppo was the highest selling smartphone brand in China, beating top brands like iPhone, Samsung, SONY and many other to dogs.

2017 is here and though Oppo have released many gadgets, we would however be looking at the newly launched Oppo A71 in this piece.

Oppo A71 Review

DESIGN & DISPLAY

oppo a71

Design-wise, the Oppp A71 does not make so much noise. What do I mean here? I’m simply saying the device really has no special or exciting body build. Just like the same old design we see on some other mid-range devices – rear camera and LED flash at the top right corner, power/ lock button on the right side, volume adjustment keys at the left and soft navigation buttons below the display. Boring if you ask me.

The device is however slim and lightweight. The device comes in Gold and Black colours, has a thickness of 7.6 mm and weighs only a minute 137 grams. Super light!

DISPLAY

The screen is however quite different. It is sized 5.2 inches and it is right between the commonly seen 5.0 inch devices and the in vogue 5.5 inch smartphone. Just the perfect size for those who feel a 5 incher is too small and can’t also deal with the hugeness of a 5.5 display. Just the perfect size; about the same size as the Infinix Hot S and Infinix S2 Pro. The display has the standard 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 282 ppi.

PROCESSOR, OS & STORAGE

The chipset used on the Oppo A71 is a MediaTek MT6750 and it runs on a 1.5 GHz Octa core Cortex-A53 processing unit. The device has a huge 3 GB RAM and runs on the Android v7.0 Nougat Operating System. You don’t really need a priest to reveal that multitasking on the A71 will be as smooth as silk.

The built-in memory is however little – just 16 GB but you can expand to your taste using the available micro SD card slot.

CAMERA

The snappers on this Oppo A71 are decent enough. The main/ primary camera at the rear is a 13 megapixels lens assisted by a LED flash. The front camera on the other hand is a 5 megapixels lens but should do well with taking selfies. There is no LED flash or soft flash support up front which is quite disappointing. How are we supposed to take selfies in the dark?

BATTERY

The battery packed on the Oppo A71 is of 3,000 mAh capacity. The battery is non-removable and also lacks fast charge.
