A developer at XDA has been able to port the camera app on the LG G6 to the LG G5. After installing it, the camera app worked perfectly on the LG G5 with no issue at all. However, before you can install the app on your own LG G5, there are a few things you have to do first.
First of all, the developer who successfully ported the camera app to the LG G5 is also the developer of Fulmics. Fulmics is a custom ROM which the developer made for the LG G5. Fulmics was created based on LG’s stock UI, and it also offers more features, options, better performance and much more.
What this means is that for you to be able to port the camera app from the LG G6 to your LG G5, you will first need to have Fulmics installed as well on your LG G5. This is because the camera app is available only with this build at the moment.

- If you do not have Fulmics installed on your LG G5 already, go ahead to download and flash Fulmics custom ROM on your phone.
- Next, Turn off your LG G5 and boot it into recovery mode.
- When it is done, go to “Install Zip” and find the camera package.
- Swipe the camera package to flash it.
- Turn off your phone and turn it back on the usual way.
- Wait for your phone to finish booting. When it is done, go to your phone app drawer launch the new camera app on your phone. When it opens, the camera app that will open, you will notice that it is the new LG G6 camera user interface.
