TAMBO has just unveiled an affordable smartphone which is mostly targeted at Nigerians with the aim of reaching those with a low budget that needs a smartphone they can call their own with a fingerprint and a massive battery capacity. They are not the first to introduce such smartphone in the Nigeria market before, in fact, iTel has been doing that already which is evident on the iTel P32 smartphone. TAMBO TA 55 VS iTel P32 – Design
The TAMBO TA 55 is a budget device made with a polycarbonate material with a thick body that measures 9.15mm in thickness and weighs 162.2 grams. It’s available in champagne and black colors. On the panel, it features a smooth back that houses a fingerprint scanner, LED flash, and the back is also blessed with a snapper. You will find sometimes that looks like an antenna line with curved edges that add small beauty to the phone.
The iTel P32 is built with plastic on the overall body, and it still looks prettier than the TAMBO TA 55. Reasons are that the phone feature a smooth panel that is well furnished with a dual rear camera and an LED flash. You will also find dual Antenna lines on both the top and bottom of the panel, even though they are fake, they still add beauty to the phone. The iTel P32 is looking good than the TAMBO TA 55 smartphone.
TAMBO TA 55 S iTel P32 – Display
On the front, the TAMBO TA 55 has a big bezel with a screen size of 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and 640 x 1280 pixels in resolutions. The iTel P32 has the same screen size of 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD touchscreen. However, it features a higher screen resolution of720 x 1440 pixels and 282 pixels per inch density for clear visuals. Furthermore, the bezel on the phone has been reduced which also gives it a higher screen to body ratio than the TAMBO TA 55 smartphone.
TAMBO TA 55 VS iTel P32 – Camera
The iTel P32 has a dual rear camera of 5MP + 5MP with dual-LED flash sitting right beside it. On the TAMBO TA 55, you will get a single rear camera of 8MP with a single LED flash sitting beside it and other internal features. The phone also has a single front facing camera of 8MP, while the iTel P32 is equipped with a 5MP front camera. Both front cameras are paired with an LED flash. However, the TAMBO TA is winning on the selfie camera.
TAMBO TA 55 VS iTel P32 – Performance
The TAMBO TA 55 and the iTel P32 has a MediaTek chipset with a quad-core processor that runs at a speed of 1.3 GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM. They both have the same ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processor for graphics while the TAMBO TA has inbuilt storage of 16GB which is more than the 8GB of inbuilt storage on the iTel P32. You can still expand the memory unit’s with micro SD card up to 32GB if you want.
TAMBO TA 55 VS iTel P32 – Battery & Price
Both phones come preloaded with a massive battery capacity of 4000mAh and they both runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition. The iTel P32 is selling at a price of $85, while the TAMBO TA 55 will retail under $100.
Our Verdict:
On the design, the iTel P32 wins, while in the memory the TAMBO TA 55 got the point. In all, I will pick the iTel P32 because of the reduction in bezels and apart from that, the phone will be cheaper than the later. Since they have the same hardware, the iTel P32 is a wise buy.
