The Apple App Store and the Google Play Store are the top two app stores today, serving iOS and Android respectively. However, there are many differences between these two platforms.
Among the dozens of differences, one of the many fans of Android want to see disappear is the impossibility of offering games/applications to their friends. On the other hand, the App Store has long allowed users to buy apps to offer to their friends.

So far, I was quite clear about this rule. No application or game could allow users to offer their friends items, features or consumables purchased in-app.
However, changes were made to this specific rule, which now states the opposite. That is, apps or games may allow users to make in-app purchases with the goal of giving to a friend. However, these items can only be returned by the buyer and can not be exchanged.
This is a feature that should have been implemented a long time ago. After all, everyone wins. However, it is not yet clear when this new option will be available to users. It will most likely also depend on the developers of each application/game.
Finally, I enjoyed watching the Mountain View company implement something similar in the Google Play Store. I do not understand the practical purpose of not allowing purchases inside your store to offer to a friend.
