Xgody S14 was introduced by the OEM in January, an affordable smartphone sporting the trending dual rear camera. The feature was rampant at the 2018 Mobile World Congress, especially on expensive flagships.
Well, with just a token you can own this affordable beauty with dual rear shooters as well. That’s not all, the Xgody S14 dishes out an impressive 5.7-inch FHD bezel-less screen with no side bezels. Without further ado, meet the Xgody S14.
Design
A beautiful an affordable device, the Xgody S14 was definitely made on a Sunday. The curved dual antenna lines at the top and bottom corner adds to the beauty no doubt. You won’t believe it was made from Plastic from afar, till you get to hold it. Moving further, the dual horizontal cameras at the top left is one of its highlight.
Right beside the dual shooters is a LED flash, ready for night adventures. The fingerprint scanner is at the usual position for easy access to the phone. While the Xgody logo is under the fingerprint scanner, it measures 8.7 mm in thickness when you turn to the sides. It weighs 163g, which is considerably easy to operate with one hand. You can get the S14 in Black, Blue, Gold, Red and White colors.
Display
The S14 sports a bezel-less screen with 76.4% screen to body ratio. The screen dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio and offers Full View display. If you look closer, you would see it has vey tiny narrow bezels and minimal top and bottom bezel. Although the bottom bezel might be kinda useless, the top is busy with its usual features.
The 5.7-inch FHD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is perfect for watching movies and playing games. The screen displays amazingly well, boasting of 1080 x 540 pixels in resolution. Due to its big screen, the pixel per inch density is just 212. Nonetheless the screen supports multi-touch and should serve its purpose.
Hardware and Software
Running the race is the MediaTek MT6580 chip alongside a 32-bit CPU architecture. The quad-core processor on the MediaTek chip reaches a clock speed of 1.3GHz with a 28nm process technology. Administrating graphics is the ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processor that has dual-cores.
Just 1GB RAM available here for everything multitasking, for fast app launching, it has a memory speed of 533 MHz. Furthermore, 8GB storage space is available as well to store all files and games. You can always upgrade the storage space up to 32GB anytime you want. The Xgody S14 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.
Camera
So the dual rear shooters couldn’t live up to the expectations literally. The 5MP + 2MP dual cameras could only capture 2K resolution images. I think the camera were just for show, but going with its price, it’s not entirely bad. With the S14 you can capture portraits with 2592 x 1944 pixels in dimension. Record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second and take selfies with the 2MP selfie camera. The selfie camera comes with a LED flash as well for night selfies and video calls.
Battery
Powering the Xgody S14 is a 2100mAh removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
