A new entrant into the smartphone market called DEXP BS250 has made its showing in Russia. The mobile phone was released in the month of November 2018. It comes with everything minimum, such as 3G and no 4G internet connection, though it seems a little too expensive for what it has got. Everything from camera to storage and device size is scaled back.
Let’s dive in and see if there is anything that can interest us about DEXP BS250 apart from the price.
Design and Display
DEXP BS250 is primarily made of plastic. Dimensions are 139 x 65.8 x 9 mm but its weight is not specified at this time. It comes in black and red colors. It is not a water resistant smartphone, has no fingerprints sensor, and has no face recognition technology.
Display type is TFT capacitive touch screen of 16 million colors. Multi-touch technology is available. The screen size is 5 inches and there is no secondary display in the device. Pixel density is 196 ppi and pixel resolution is 960 x 480 pixels.
Camera Features
At the camera department, there is a single camera setup of 5 MP at the rear of the DEXP BS250. Nevertheless, this is interpolated up to 8 MP. The rear camera sports LED flash. Also, the camera at the front made for selfies is 2 MP and it comes without LED flash option. Video performance is put at 720p@30fps.
Other good camera features are geotagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, auto focus, and HDR.
Hardware and Software
Spreadtrum SC7731C is found as the primary hardware in the smartphone and it comes with process technology 28nm. Furthermore, this runs on 32-bit architecture. In addition, the CPU is 1.2 GHz Quad-core Cortex A7, while the GPU is Mali 400. Likewise, the primary software found on DEXP BS250 is Android OS but we cannot specify what type it is.
Storage Capacity and Sensors
Provision is made for internal memory 1GB of RAM which is not expandable. However, the internal storage of 8GB can be increased up to 32GB with the use of a microSD card. There is only one sensor in the DEXP BS250 and it is just accelerometer.
Network and Connectivity
There is a provision for 2G and 3G for DEXP BS250. In other words, the supported network is GSM and HSPA. Dual nano SIM card slots are available to make the networks operate properly.
Other connectivity components are Bluetooth v2.1, Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, headphone jack, and micro USB 2.0. There is no infrared, NFC, or HDMI in the DEXP BS250.
Battery Life
Powering the device is a poor 1950 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that has no wireless charging or fast charging capacities. However, it seems that the battery will be able to cope with the demand of daily device use. We are not able to tell what the talk time and standby time for the devices.
Price and Availability
The price of DEXP BS250 is $67 USD which seems equitable with the features it boasts of. The device is actually available because it has been released in the month of November, 2018.
