Russian company DEXP released the DEXP Ixion X150 Metal smartphone in January. An affordable solid phone made completely from Metal. Most budget smartphone in its price range comes with a Plastic body, but the Ixion X150 Metal tends to stand out.
Apart from sporting a full Metal unibody, the device comes with some amazing specs as well. Boasting of 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, can this be the perfect smartphone for those on a budget? Lets find out.
Design
One of the highlights of the device is its full over metal unibody, that’s very smooth and comfortable to hold as well. It reflects light beautifully when out and about, it also sports a rear fingerprint scanner. No rear loudspeaker on the device, just the DEXP logo at the bottom corner.
The rear camera and dual-LED flash sits at the top left corner in a horizontal position, which is just above the antenna line. Tunning to the sides, it measures 7.95 mm in thickness, it weighs 140g overall. It comes in only Grey and Gold colors, so if you love bright colors this might not be for you.
Display
There are nothing bezel-less about the screen here, huge bezels are spotted at the top and bottom corner. But surprisingly, it got above the 70% mark to become a bezel-less smartphone. Reaching 71.3% screen to body ratio, mainly because it has no narrow bezels whatsoever.
The bottom bezel houses three navigation buttons, while the top bezel houses the selfie camera and other features. The 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Details on the screen should come out sharp due to 294 pixel per inch density.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737 chipset with Quad-core processor. The processor reaches a clock speed of 1.25GHz, with 64-bit CPU architecture and 28nm process technology. The graphics processing unit is a Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processor that clocks at 550MHz.
A standard 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space is available on the device. The 2GB RAM boasts of a memory speed of 640MHz for smooth multitasking. While the 16GB storage space is upgradeable to 64GB using a memory card in the SIM Slot 2. The Ixion X150 Metal runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with modified UI.
Camera
The 13MP rear camera at the back of the Ixion X150 Metal might surprise you. It uses its 5P lens to capture 4K resolution images. The Sony Exmor RS DNG Camera has NeoVision 6.0 and Blue Filter Glass and takes photographs of 4416 x 2939 pixels in dimension. Record videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second and take beautiful selfies with the 5MP front shooter.
Battery
Powering the DEXP Ixion X150 up is a 2450mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology support. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more 1.5 hours to charge the 2450mAh battery.
