How uTorrent works; all you need to know about uTorrent

In the quest for torrent files, uTorrent is certainly one of the most used. It is a software available for Windows, MacOS, and Linux that has its strong point in the management of available bandwidth.

The program in question, in fact, regulates the speed of download and upload according to the limits of your connection, allowing us to perform common actions that require little bandwidth at the same time as downloads.

uTorrent is free, but there is also a paid version…

Compared to many other software of this kind, uTorrent is also available in a commercial version (sold at 25.23 euros). What is the advantage of switching from the free version to the premium version? Apparently, the only advantage is the elimination of advertising banners (annoying, but with which it is not impossible to live together).

It is therefore quite clear how to opt for free uTorrent is perhaps the best choice – in any case, if you do not want to spend money and do not digest advertising, you can always opt for an alternative torrent client.

How to download and install uTorrent

Go to the official website of the software and click on the button with the word Download uTorrent. If necessary select the operating system in use.

The file utweb_installer.exe should now be present in your download folder. In the window that opens, click on the OK button first and then click Yes and Next twice. Finally, choose Accept.

When you are offered the conditions for using the software, click on the Acceptbutton . Be very careful – if in these steps you are offered other software or advertising content of various kinds, always refuses in doubt their installation and go on until the Finish button appears, to confirm the installation.

If you are installing on Mac, you must open the package you downloaded from the client’s official website. Start the executable present in it, click on Open and then on Continue . Also in this case, pay attention to the advertising contents (useless if not harmful) possibly deselecting them.

The first start

When you have finished the installation, if you have not made any particular changes to the client’s default settings, uTorrent will be set as the default BitTorrent client.

This means that your computer, when you click on any file with .torrent format (or selecting a magnet link directly via browser) will automatically use uTorrent to start the download.

However, it is not yet time to get to the downloads – go to OptionsConfiguration Wizard and perform a quick test to calibrate the software based on your internet line. This phase must naturally be preceded by the opening of the doors on your router.

Good download!
