HTC – the relaunch will pass from the new 5G smartphone and the VR sector

On the occasion of CES 2019, the new Vive Cosmos VR and Vive Pro Eye viewers were debuted, new HTC products for virtual reality. The Taiwanese company, through the president Cher Wang, has returned to talk about its future after an extremely negative 2018 closed with a decrease of 62% of the turnover compared to an already disastrous 2017.

For her relaunch, HTC has two cards to play. Firstly, the company will try to drastically increase revenues in the VR sector, destined to become the focus of HTC’s activities over the next few years thanks to a growing number of products able to increase the company’s range.

As for the mobile phone sector, the relaunch will pass from the first 5G smartphone expected, as confirmed by HTC itself, for the second half of 2019. The device should be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and offer features from the true top of the range, below all points of view.

At the moment, in any case, it is not clear whether HTC will launch a new flagship during the first half of 2019 or wait for the second half and the new device with 5G support to try to re-launch sales and, above all, revenues. Keep following us for all the updates on the case.
