Meizu M8c has been unveiled by the company in Russia, the device got its moment on screen with its specs and features revealed for everyone to see. The budget device was created for those won’t be able to afford the M15 series.
Apart from being bezel-less, it houses the Snapdragon 425 chip with a Quad-Core processor. There’s 2GB of RAM, a 32GB storage variant, and a 13MP rear camera. Without further ado, meet the Meizu M8c.
Design
The M8c is an update to the M5c smartphone, so there’s much difference in terms of design. Still sports the same Plastic-like body with no major wow factor. It’s also weird to see a budget smartphone from Meizu with no fingerprint scanner.
The company doesn’t like having rear fingerprint sensors, they could have inserted it by the side as usual. The camera, LED flash and Meizu logo are still in the same position on its predecessor. Even though it measures 8.5 mm in thickness when you turn over to the sides, it weighs just 140g overall. In terms of colours, it’s available in Black, Gold, Blue and Red.
Display
This is another prove that Meizu can actually live without the physical home button at the bottom bezel. This gives room for much taller display and super minimal bezels. The top bezel houses the usual features, while the bottom, in my opinion, could house a home button.
The 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen might not be a perfect fit for big screen lovers. However, it will entice the 18:9 aspect screen lovers with its 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution and 295 pixel per inch density. The screen also stretches up to 74.8% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
The Snapdragon 425 chip from Qualcomm runs the race here with a Quad-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 4-Cores of processor here reaches a standard speed of 1.3GHz with 28nm process technology. The Adreno 308 graphics processor handles graphics.
It comes with a standard 2GB of RAM for multitasking, it clocks at 667MHz in terms of memory speed. There are two versions in terms of storage space, there’s one with 16GB and another with 32GB, both are upgradeable up to 128GB using a memory card. Even though it runs on an older Android 7.0 Nougat, it comes with the latest Flyme UI.
Camera
The 13MP rear camera comes with f/2.2 aperture for clear photographs. The camera comes with a LED flash and other quality features like phase detection autofocus, touch focus, face detection and the rest. The 8MP selfie shooter has f/2.0 aperture for cute selfies.
Battery
Powering the Meizu M8c is a 3070mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery no with fast charging technology. Without the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% might take up to 2.3 hours.
