The Nokia X5 has been finally introduced by HMD Global after countless leaks and rumours. This is coming just weeks after the X6 was introduced as the first Nokia smartphone with a notch.
The X5 comes with the notch as well with AI-powered dual rear camera. The Helio P60 sits behind the wheel with two storage variants to choose from. It also runs on Android 8.1 Oreo as well, lets find out more.
Design
As expected, the Nokia X5 comes with an aluminium alloy overall unibody and looks exquisite from the rear. Although the features at the rear isn’t what we will consider as unique from Nokia.
There’s a vertical foundation at the top middle that houses dual cameras and a LED flash underneath. While the fingerprint scanner follows underneath. It measures 8.1mm in thickness, weighs 160g and available in Copper, Tempered Blue and Black.
Display
It comes with the trending notched screen, however, the notched looks so thick compared to what we saw on the X6. Even the bottom chin is more visible on the X5 than we saw on the X6. Nonetheless, it dishes out a 19:9 tall display.
While the 5.86-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen has 720 x 1520 pixels in resolution and a crystal clear 294 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. It boasts 84% screen-to-body ratio and a 2.5D Glass on top.
Hardware and Software
It’s powered by the Helio P60 from MediaTek, this was manufactured by a 12nm FinFET process technology. There’s an octa-core processor as well which reaches 2.0GHz. In the graphics department, the ARM Mali-G72MP3 graphics card controls graphics.
There are two versions in terms of storage space and RAM. There’s a version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. While the cheaper variant has 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. The X5 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Camera
The 13MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture on top acts as the main camera, while the secondary 5MP shooter below is the depth sensor. There’s a dual-LED flash underneath for low light photographs. The front-facing sensor is an 8MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture, 80-degree wide viewing angle. It supports AI portraits and beauty mode.
Battery
Powering the Nokia X5 is a 3060mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.8 hours.
