geekbuying 408737f4 6b10 4e99 b5f1 a5997dee7593The Uhans S1 is a beautifully made smartphone. This device comes in a simple, slim, and light package that makes it very attractive. This is a smartphone that is worth reviewing (you are free to disagree). The highlights and low points of the Uhans S1 are briefly assessed in this write-up.

Design & Display

Design-wise, the Uhans S1 smartphone is a beauty. The phone has a refined design and at just 7.3mm of thickness and weighing about 150g, it is quite sleek and light to handle. The device comes in a dual glass package; with a curved glass panel found on both the front and back, making the device more appealing to behold.

On the front of the Uhans S1 is a 5.0 inch IPS capacitive display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The screen also uses the 2.5D glass for a smooth touch experience. There are no capacitive buttons on this device, so you get less than the 5.0 inch of screen estate as advertised.

A fingerprint scanner can be found at the back of the phone.

Hardware, OS & Performance

Featuring the MediaTek MTK6753 SoC that comes with an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz and a Mali-T720 GPU, the Uhans S1 smartphone promises to give you a nice performance. The chipset also contains a 3GB RAM chip as well as 32GB of onboard storage.

The Uhans S1 comes with the Freeme OS 6.1preinstalled, which is based on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. This means that users are afforded the opportunity to download and install their favorite games and apps from the Google Play Store as well as access to other interesting features.

Cameras

At the back of this smartphone is a 13MP shooter (interpolatable to 16MP), while you’ll find a 5MP selfie camera at the front (interpolatable to 8MP). The rear camera uses a Sony IMX 214 sensor and an aperture size of f/2.2 with auto-focus and flash.

Battery & Connectivity

You’ll be disappointed with the S1’s battery as it’s only a meagerly 2200mAh. Well, you can’t have a really slim device with very good battery; you have to sacrifice one. Nevertheless, with this battery capacity, you should expect about 2 to 3 days of usage on casual use and about a day on heavy use.

The Uhans S1 has 4G/LTE connectivity in addition to other regular connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and so on.

Key Specifications

  • 5” HD IPS display
  • MediaTek MT6753 with octa core CPU and Mali-T720 MP3 GPU
  • 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM
  • Dimensions – 140 x 69.1 x 7.3mm
  • Weight – 150 grams
  • FreeMe OS, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS
  • 2200mAh battery

Conclusion

With a nicely designed body and decent specifications, the only fault I find with the Uhans S1 is in the battery capacity. But if you don’t care so much about battery life or you are a design “fanatic,” then I suggest that you consider this smartphone.
