Xgody D22 was released in December 2017 with average specs and retails for a token as well. The company are known for making budget friendly smartphones that gives true value for money. Design
Ut doesn’t look cheap obviously, but that’s beside the point. Sporting an Aluminium alloy and Plastic unibody that is stunning to look at. I like the combination of both elements here, they came together to achieve this masterpiece. The white antenna lines at the top and bottom corner adds to the beauty of the device, giving it a premium touch.
From afar you might assume it sports dual rear shooters, but one of those is a LED flash. The LED flash is underneath the camera while the fingerprint scanner follows in a vertical order. Its quite bulky even with the low battery capacity, weighing a staggering 211g. Another attractive feature on the device is Xgody’s choice of colors, the device is available in beautiful colors like Red, Gold, Black and Blue.
Display
I still think bezels needs to go, at least a huge part of it, the Xgody D22 comes with a lot. It sports three navigation buttons as well on the bottom bezel, while the selfie camera, speaker grid, front flash and ambient light sensor sits at the top. The narrow bezels are almost invisible, you have to literally lean further to see it.
The 5.5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen is brilliant for its price, boasting of 1280x720pixels in resolution. For clarity and intense visuals, it has 267 pixel per inch density. Protecting the multi-touch screen is a 2.5D curved glass screen which should keep the displays in check.
Hardware and Software
Doing all the job under the hood is the MediaTek MT6737 chipset with Quad-core processor. The processor reaches a maximum speed of 1.3GHz, has 64-bit CPU architecture and 28nm process technology. In terms of graphics, the ARM Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processor is totally in charge with 2-Cores and reaches a clock speed of 600MHz.
Multitasking shouldn’t be a problem here, depending on the number of apps. It has 2GB of RAM which boasts of a memory speed of 640MHz for smooth and fast multitasking. Store everything you love on the 16GB internal storage space. You can always upgrade up to 64GB by inserting a memory card in the sim 2 slot. The D22 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
Camera
The 8MP rear camera captures 3K resolution images, photographs taken can boast of 3264 x 2448 pixels in dimension. Features on the camera includes autofocus, touch focus, self-timer, face detection, ISO setting, HDR and panorama. Oh, it has a LED flash as well, record videos of 720p@30fps, with 2MP selfie camera. The 8MP rear camera has an interpolated resolution of 13MP, while the 2MP selfie camera has an interpolated resolution of 5MP.
Battery
Powering the Xgody D22 is a 2900mAh Non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology support.
