Xiaomi Mi 7, the first rumors reveal its design and a fingerprint sensor under the screen

The second half of 2017 is giving us excellent news in terms of new Smartphones. The major mobile phone manufacturers have already provided some information talking about possible launches of new mobile phones. Among these we have the Samsung Note 8, initially launched in the US market, the  Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Apple with its iPhone 8 and iPhone X, probably Oppo will make its move with the R11S, among others.

Returning to Xiaomi, it seems that the main role at the end of this year was covered by the spectacular Mi Mix 2. However, it is possible that the company intends to give it only a momentary fame, because from now on it starts talking about the new heir of the most powerful series of the company; and of course, we are talking about the Xiaomi Mi 7. Here we bring you the latest leak about what will be the new icon of the Chinese company.

It should be noted that the images we are about to present to you are not the first to appear on the web, but undoubtedly this time they show more details than the previous ones, and Who does not love the details?

The Xiaomi Mi 7 smartphone will present a small update regarding design, as well as bring the historical MI logo in its rather striking and well-defined part. An interesting news and perhaps a little shocking for some is that the absence of the home button is confirmed. For this reason, we have reason to believe that the Mi 7 can use ultrasonic fingerprint technology with a sensor located under the screen. Giving a wider look to the front design, there should be a sleek full-screen alignment similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8 with its “Infinity Display”.

In the chromatic level, the source informs that the Mi 7 would come in four colors – black, white, silver and blue, while as for the construction material, we should have, like the Mi Mix 2 currently, a double version – the “standard ” in glass and the superior version of ceramic “premium”. Always according to the source, we will have to wait for a screen-body relationship even higher than that of Mi Mix 2, which would guarantee a really surprising effect. This is mainly due to the greater optimisation of the side frames and the thickness of the lower part.

Probably the most powerful Smartphone on the market is the Xiaomi Mi 7

Regarding hardware, it seems increasingly likely to adopt the new platform of Qualcomm Snapdragon processing; we are talking about the 845 series, supported by 6GB of RAM for the launch, which will be accompanied by an 8GB version later in the market (which is probably associated with the ceramic back cover).

Characteristics that, if confirmed, will be truly superior to those of today. Finally, some recent rumours further reinforce the possibility that the Mi 7 will use a 5.7-inch OLED screen with an 18 – 9 ratio and a resolution of 2K. The IP68 certification could also be part of the technical luggage of the smartphone. According to the latest information published by the Wireless Charging Alliance (WPC), Xiaomi could join this consortium soon. This means that the Mi 7 could incorporate a wireless charging function.

If we talk about a hypothetical presentation date, we must say that it is probably early 2018. The test phase of Xiaomi Mi 7 will officially start in November this year and aims to end in February 2018, when the smartphone is ready for serial production. The review of these rumours is quite intense since there are still many doubts related mainly to the fingerprint sensor.

We conclude with an indiscretion in what may be the cost of the Mi 7. Although it is a bit premature to talk about prices, it is common to expect that Lei Jun, (CEO of Xiaomi), maintain the policy that gives its products, with the highest Value for money for which the excellent company of Beijing is famous. According to this hypothesis, all Mi 7 technology could be available in China at 2999 yuan (around € 389 or $ 451). However, for the moment everything mentioned so far remains in the realm of rumours and speculation, so we just have to wait.
