The Elephone S8 Pro was introduced a couple of weeks ago, but the device didn’t make it to shopping stores. However, the device was seen in an Unboxing video with all its specs and features revealed.
Of course it houses the Snapdragon 660 chip with octa-core processor and 6GB of RAM. The device is suppose to be the upgraded variant of the S8, even though the S9 and S9 Pro are already on shopping stores.
Design
Elephone has recently fallen in love with wood and this is becoming a trend. The S8 Pro has a wooden back that gives off a vintage vibe, it has metal frames as well which keeps the wood intact. There’s a Gold-like design at the bottom corner as well.
At the top middle, we can see the dual rear cameras on a vertically placed foundation with the LED flash sitting underneath. It measures 8.6mm in thickness and weighs 195g, making it a heavy device. It’s also very boxy with no curved edges.
Display
Just like the Elephone S8, the S8 Pro ships with the tri-bezel-less display. The screen stretches all the way to the top corner, while the bottom bezel are enormously thick. Nonetheless, it houses a physical home button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner and a selfie camera.
The tall 5.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is very sharp in terms of detail. It has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and 441 pixel per inch density with full lamination technology. The screen got up to 79% screen-to-body ratio and a Corning Gorilla Glass on top.
Hardware and Software
It’s powered by the Snapdragon 660 chip from Qualcomm which was built on a 12nm process technology. It also boasts of 8-cores of processor which clocks at 2.2GHz max, while the Adreno 512 graphics processor handles graphics.
There’s a massive 6GB of RAM to help you out with heavy multitasking. The RAM reaches a fast memory speed of 1.8GHz as well. While in the storage department, there’s one with 64GB storage and am expensive variant with 128GB. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.
Camera
It sports dual 13MP + 13MP rear cameras, however the one underneath is a telephoto. The cameras come with a LED flash and other features as well like Pro mode, Auto-focus and beauty mode. While the 8MP front camera at the bottom bezels focuses on selfies.
Battery
Powering the Elephone S8 Pro is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2 hours.
