The Mi Mix line gets what Xiaomi has to offer. The first smartphone came with a giant screen of 6.4 inches, which compromised its ergonomics. Now in the second generation, the company has brought a more compact model with small refinements that make it a flagship even more capable of facing the major smartphones on the market.
Here we have a product with a great finish that mixes metal and ceramics, at least in the input variant tested. The company’s care with the design and materials chosen was greater than was seen in other high-end smartphones, such as the Mi 6. There is also a special version with 128 GB of storage that comes with a body entirely made of ceramic.
Mi Mix 2 retains the same flashy design as the previous one but delivers a more comfortable device to be used because of the smaller screen and the 18 – 9 aspect that makes it narrower. The quality of the panel, however, is somewhat lower than before, offering brightness and contrast below what we had previously.
The smartphone is very agile thanks to the Snapdragon 835 allied up to 8 GB of RAM. The MIUI 9.5 with Android Oreo flows very well in the handset, delivering solid performance most of the time. Mi Mix 2 is one of the fastest smartphones ever to have passed many tests.
The camera has undergone a nice evolution compared to the Mi Mix. The new Sony sensor has done well in both photos and videos. Of course, it is still far from perfect and shows that Xiaomi has room for improvement.
The battery lasts well for the performance delivered by the smartphone. There are several optimization modes that allow you to extend the range, but restrict the use of multiple apps at the same time. Overall, Mi Mix 2 is a device that hits more than miss and should please most of those interested in a good flagship.
