January 03 2017 Update – The MTN 4G SIM Card cost me just N350 naira here in Kaduna. I was given a welcome back SIM pack and told to start using it in the next 3-4 hours. So do not create a scene at MTN office when there is no indication of MTN 4G on the SIM pack tendered to you.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid ID card (Student or NIMC temporary card will also work)

You will be given a little form to fill. It contains details like Name, Mother’s Maiden name, address, the number of the SIM you want to upgrade, last six frequently dialled phone numbers, current tariff plan, Date of Birth, and last two amount recharged.

I was lucky because I went early enough. So the whole thing took me about 15-20 minutes.

  • Dial *559*444# to get your free 4GB data.

ALSO

  • Dial *131*4# to get 5GB data. You can check your data balance by dialling *559*62#.
