This time around it’s going to be a battle between the newly launched Meizu 16 and Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphones. Both are the latest smartphones from Chinese manufacturer with impressive features and design.
Meizu 16 VS Xiaomi Mi 8 – Design.
Looking at the two phones, you can easily sport their differences. The Meizu 16 does not have a notch, but it comes with a higher screen to body ratio. The symmetric design is also adoring with the ceramic-like glass in the back where the fingerprint scanner is located.
The Xiaomi Mi 8, on the other hand, is an excellent smartphone with a good design which is inspired by most flagship phones like the iPhone X and some Honor phones. So the design isn’t new while the Meizu 16 comes with the original design.
One more thing, the Meizu 16 is lighter than the Xiaomi Mi 8 because it has 150.5 × 73.2 × 7.3 mm and weighs just 152 gram, while the Xiaomi Mi 8 has 154.9 x 74.8 x 7.6 mm and weighs 175 gram.
Meizu 16 VS Xiaomi Mi 8 – Display.
The Meizu 16 comes with a better display. The Meizu 16 has a screen size of 6 inches with 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution while the Xiaomi Mi 8 pack 6.21 inches with 1080 x 2248 resolution. Both are equipped with Super AMOLED with the Xiaomi Mi 8 featuring HDR10 technology and DCI-P3 coverage which will bring more vibrant colors than its rival.
Meizu 16 VS Xiaomi Mi 8 – Camera.
Both the Meizu 16 and Xiaomi Mi 8 comes with stunning cameras with bright apertures and high resolutions. The Meizu 16 has a dual camera of 12MP + 20MP in the back for photography while the Xiaomi Mi 8 has 12MP + 12MP on the back.
They feature the same 20MP on the front for a selfie. The Xiaomi Mi 8 features 3D facial recognition for authentication. So you can unlock your phone very easy and secure. The Meizu 16, on the other hand, have in-display fingerprint reader which is still an innovative and also easy way to unlock your phone.
Meizu 16 VS Xiaomi Mi 8 – Performance.
The Meizu 16 features Snapdragon 845 which is one of the best SoC by Qualcomm. The phone also comes with a massive 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. While the Xiaomi Mi 8 has a Snapdragon 845 as well but with just 6GB of RAM. The Meizu 16 also comes with a liquid cooling technology which will make the phone perform better when gaming than it’s rival.

Meizu 16 VS Xiaomi Mi 8 – Battery and Price.
On the battery, the Xiaomi Mi 8 is winning with a massive battery capacity of 4000mAh which will last longer than the 3010mAh on the Meizu 16 smartphone. The Meizu 16 starting price is $395 while they Xiaomi Mi 8 will go global at a starting price of $421. The two phones are almost the same on most of its category, so it will be very difficult to choose a winner.
Though if I where asked to choose I will go for the Xiaomi Mi 8 not just for the battery along but the large screen display that will deliver more and brighter colors.
