Android P will officially arrive next August 20th

Android P, the next version of the Google operating system, will be officially launched next 20 August. The public debut of Android P will be exclusively on Google Pixel mobile phones.

At the moment these are the first details known on the highly anticipated launch of version 9.0: Google has not even revealed the name of the new version, which will be announced the day of launch. To date, the hypothesis that finds greater confirmation is that of “Pistachio Ice Cream”, after that for some time there had been a lot of talk about “Popsicle”.

To date, five preview builds have been released for Android P developers, with the last one released last month, which already included the final APIs. Google released Android 8.0 Oreo as a new mobile platform on August 21st and is a date that matches that of Android P.

The famous “leaker” Evan Blass, known on Twitter as @evleaks, shared an image on Thursday that shows August 20 as the release date of Android P – given the great reliability of Evan Blass, we can give it almost for sure. Also rumor of a statue of Android P that will probably be placed on the lawn of Google headquarters in Mountain View, California, before the official release.

Google launched Android P for developers in March to start testing its new mobile platform. This objective is specifically aimed at meeting the current market trends, including the design of the display, the presence of multiple cameras, the increasingly “borderless” displays and the ever-increasing demand for the most advanced security system possible. Google has also used artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning efforts to offer an Adaptive Battery feature that helps improve battery life on smartphones.

While the Android P developer previews were initially dedicated to Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones, Google announced its expansion during the 2018 I / O in May and brought the first public beta version of the next Android version to other devices with support for Project Treble. These include Essential PH-1, Nokia 7 Plus, OnePlus 6, Oppo R15 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ2, Vivo X21, Vivo X21 UD and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.
